Board members Required: A call to service to community.

TEERE is a national NGO focused on development work in northern Ghana. We were registered in 2014. Our office is located at the ministries in Bolgatanga in the Upper East Region. Our thematic areas include Local Governance, Women and Youth empowerment, Local Economic Development, Research and Creative Art and Culture. Within its short lifespan, we have built, nurtured and maintained partnerships/collaboration with municipal and districts Assemblies, National Association of Local Authorities of Ghana (NALAG), the Local Government Service (LGS), Ghana Federation of Disability Organization (Upper East Chapter), STAR-Ghana, the Senior Experten Service (Germany), Robert Bosch Foundation(Germany), International Children’s Help(ICH-Germany), German and French Embassies, SILDEP etc. We have also implemented a number of projects including Village Savings and Loans Associations (VSLAs), Voter education, the TEERE Local Government Forum (TLGF), Round Table Discussion on Local Governance, ensuring accountability and transparency in the disbursement of the District Assembly Common Fund for Persons With Disability, dry season farming for small holder rural women farmers among others. We have also registered a consultancy.

The mandatory 4- year term of our board end this year. We have a 7-member Board, at least 3 of whom must be female. We are now looking for persons with the experience, commitment and drive to volunteer their services for the next 2 years, renewable for a final two years.

Our prospective Board members must:

  • 1 Show commitment and passion for the organization and its activities.
  • 2 Have some knowledge and experience in any of the six (6) major thematic areas; knowledge of non-profit management; or have worked in similar organizational development; business knowledge; finance or any other relevant area.
  • 3 Be ready to attend at least board meetings every year.
  • 4 Be ready to attend programmes/activities of the organization.
  • 5 Be ready to support in our resource mobilization drive.
